This role is part of the System Integration organization, within the Systems Controls group in Windsor Locks, CT. It focuses on systems requirements, product specifications, and model-based development, including defining and decomposing systems engineering requirements, control systems modeling and dynamic analysis, developing advanced models, and defining system test plans. The engineer will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, customers, and management to define, review, and refine control system requirements for complex integrated air management systems, ensuring seamless control system performance and robust operation within design limits.
WhatYou Will Do
- With minimal direction, define and decompose requirements for heating, cooling, and ventilation systems of aircraft.
- Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to establish specifications, perform evaluations, and plan performance testing.
- Formulate conceptual designs for continuous and discrete control system requirements, developing lower-level requirements to meet customer needs and business goals, with emphasis on precise thermal management control and reliability.
- Develop advanced mathematical models or other computer analysis methods to create, evaluate, or modify designs according to customer engineering requirements.
- Perform system-level analyses of thermal fluid systems and prepare technical reports with findings and recommendations.
- With minimal direction, create and implement common procedures and standard work across the organization.
- Investigate test results for consistency with performance predictions and compliance with system requirements.
Required
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Preferred
- 5–7 years of experience in the Aerospace, Automotive, or Oil & Gas industry preferred
- Experience in requirements definition and decomposition
- Experience with Model-Based Design engineering
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, DOORS, Python, Modelica, or SysML
- Experience presenting to management and customers
- Experience with task-level planning and project execution

Note:
This is a U.S.
-based role. Salary range: 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. Benefits are dependent on business unit, location, and applicable agreements.
