Cashier, Customer Service​/HelpDesk

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers visibly and actively.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at check lanes.
• Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
• Adhere to the company's cash handling limits and work honestly to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and advertisements.
• Comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions or accidents, supporting safety programs.
• Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers and assist with product inquiries.
• Follow all relevant laws and company policies.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts in a calm, cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
