This is a rare opportunity to step straight into a busy, brand-new practice with around 900 rostered and waitlisted patients from day one. Full-time billings are expected at CAD $50,000+ a month (approximately £25,000+), with a tiered split rising to 80%, in one of Canada's safest towns on the Detroit River. The Practice Brand-new, purpose-built clinic opened in June 2026, with 10 exam rooms, a triage room, a dedicated procedure room and an on-site pharmacy.
Walk-in and family practice under one roof - roster your own patients and pick up 35-40 daily walk-ins alongside them. A Medical Office Administrator handles vitals, allergies and medication checks before you see each patient. Genuine local need: around 8% of Amherstburg has no family doctor, and an older population wants care in town. Co-located physiotherapy, CBT and bracing in the same plaza, plus planned expansion into on-site phlebotomy, X-ray and ultrasound.
- Expected billings of CAD $50,000+ a month full-time (approximately £25,000+).
- Tiered fee split: keep 75% of the first CAD $40,000 a month, 78% up to $50,000, rising to 80% above that.
- The owner is open to improving the split for doctors who commit long term.
- Strong demand for minor procedures, including suturing and circumcision.
- Addiction medicine and mental health interests welcomed, with unmet demand and no psychiatry in town.
- Private work available, including travel medicine, MTO driver medicals, insurance and pre-op assessments.
- Flexibility to set your own schedule, with evening and weekend premiums planned once the practice moves to a group model.
- Visa sponsorship via the C10 or LMIA route.
- Relocation support for three to five year commitments, plus personal introductions to local estate agents and bankers.
- A team model, with physicians covering each other's busy days and rotating weekends so nobody burns out.
Amherstburg is a historic riverside town where the Detroit River meets Lake Erie, named the third safest place in Canada by Maclean's in 2019 and around 20 minutes from Windsor. Weekends are easy to fill, with riverfront walks through King's Navy Yard Park, the sandy beach, boardwalk trail and autumn Festival of Hawks at Holiday Beach, and award-winning family wineries across the Essex Pelee Island Coast.
Families are well served by a new public high school, Fort Malden's historic reenactments and year-round events from summer Open Air Weekends to the winter River Lights Festival. Detroit's major league sport and city life are about half an hour away, with Windsor and Detroit airports both within easy reach.
- MRCGP or equivalent qualifications.

- Comfortable with a full family medicine workload from day one.
- Looking for a long-term move, with three to five year commitments preferred.
- An interest in minor procedures, addiction medicine or mental health would be a strong advantage.
