Overview

Community Assistant Branch Leader - Windsor role at Canvas Credit Union. The Community ABL champions the Canvas vision pillars and works with the Branch Leader to guide branch teams in delivering exceptional member service, coaching staff, and supporting daily branch operations.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure members receive high quality service from all Canvas team members at all touch points in the branch.
  • Consistently exceed credit union goals during member financial transactions, opening new accounts, taking loan applications, and selling products and services.
  • Resolve member issues promptly and coach staff to do the same.
  • Maintain operational integrity through reviews of branch logs, checklists, and retention schedules; ensure proper cash control practices.
  • Work with Branch Leader to evaluate, develop, motivate, train and coach team members; ensure strong product and process knowledge.
  • Achieve sales and growth goals, conduct daily huddles and weekly team meetings, and develop team members.
  • Oversee all branch operations and operational efficiency in collaboration with Branch Leader.
  • Deepen member relationships through cross-selling and advanced understanding of financial products and services.
  • Maintain knowledge of lending processes, security and fraud procedures; serve as a branch-wide knowledge resource.
  • Manage hiring, training, performance management, conflict resolution, scheduling, cross-training, and succession planning.
  • Support organizational goals, values, initiatives, and cost control; follow safety and security guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, procedures, BSA, and other requirements; stay informed on industry developments.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new policies and procedures; embrace ongoing education and new skills/software.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality; provide member service face-to-face daily; perform other duties as assigned.
  • Role requires becoming a Colorado state Notary Public for loan documentation and notarization; leadership must be trained and certified to perform Medallion Signature Guarantees where applicable.
Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:

  • Strong people leadership; ability to coach, train and develop team members.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication; ability to explain programs, terms, policies and benefits.
  • Proven track record in sales and customer service; advanced knowledge of Canvas products and services.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; detail-oriented and organized; ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word); ability to maintain confidence.
  • Multilingual abilities (Spanish a plus); valid Colorado driver's license and proof of insurance.

Education or Formal Training:
Two-year college degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

One to three years of financial or sales management experience. Current Canvas employees must meet performance expectations and HEART behaviors.

Starting pay range: $56,485.00-$66,899.89; final pay rate determined by experience, education, skills, and internal equity factors.

NMLS

This role requires Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the SAFE Act of 2008. We conduct background checks to ensure NMLS registration and Canvas requirements are met. Not meeting or staying current may result in removal from role. Canvas also conducts pre-employment background reviews.

Working Environment/Physical Activities

High volume, fast-paced, dynamic office environment with some travel. Flexible schedule Monday through Saturday; may attend meetings/events outside regular business hours. Standard office equipment is used; some lifting, bending, or standing may be required.
