The Senior Financial Services Coordinator reports to the Executive Director. This role provides leadership and direction to the Financial Services Coordinator and is expected to provide complete accounting of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Trust Fund and month-end related financial reporting, as well as various duties assigned by the Executive Director.
Wage Rate:
The annual salary is $70,000.

Responsibilities:
Enhances the Resident & Family Experience
Approaches every financial conversation with the warmth, dignity, and professionalism our residents and families deserve.
Delivers high-priority, transparent communication that builds trust and provides immediate peace of mind during sensitive financial transitions.
Serves as a primary liaison for residents and families, simplifying complex funding and billing processes.
Guides families through complex financial transitions by providing empathetic listening alongside technical expertise, ensuring a collaborative approach with families.
Reduces Financial Anxiety
Manages the billing lifecycle in a timely manner, recognizing that clear, swift communication is a fundamental component of person-centered care.
Translates complex billing statements and funding structures into clear, accessible language, ensuring residents and families fully comprehend their financial commitments without confusion.
Facilitates sensitive processes—such as subsidy applications - with a non-judgmental, compassionate approach that preserves family dignity and fosters a sense of security.
Provides proactive counsel on mandatory vs optional services, empowering families to make informed decisions that align with their personal needs.
Preserves Dignity & Autonomy
Manages resident trust accounts with high-level precision, ensuring funds are accessible and accurate so residents can exercise their right to personal spending choices.
Bridges the gap between technical billing and person-centered care by intentionally involving residents in financial dialogue, fostering a sense of inclusion, dignity, and control over their lives.
Technical Expertise
Sets vision, goals and objectives for the department in line with the overall facility’s vision and strategic directions.
Provide support on financial issues to the rest of the Leadership Team.
Supports recruitment, orientation, retention, performance management.
Demonstrates good knowledge of Collective Agreements, Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act and all other relevant legislation.
Participates in facility-wide quality improvement activities.
Prepares and participates in audits.
Required to understand the nature and meaning of quality indicators.
Required to participate in the improvement of the indicators and achieve satisfactory results.
Accounting functions are completed accurately and on time including, but not limited to:
accounts receivable/accounts payable
manual/system cheques, PDS
census, rate reduction, Director’s discretion, exceptional circumstances, bank deposits, overdue accounts, PAP
payroll
record of employment, T4 reporting, processing payroll in ADP WFN, Staff Schedule Care or other time and attendance software interface balancing
employee benefits
pension and group RRSP, union dues, health and benefit plan, seniority list
resident trust
deposit and disbursement, statement of account
petty cash
reconciliation and reimburse
Oversee and provide guidance and support to the Financial Services Coordinator
Other duties as assigned and or indicated in Job Task Inventory
