Director of Construction

Lead construction delivery across Ontario with Fortis Construction Group Inc., using project management and operational oversight to guide major commercial projects.
The Director of Construction provides strategic leadership for safe, timely, and budget-conscious project execution. You will oversee project managers, superintendents, and support staff while developing procedures, managing resources, and maintaining stakeholder relationships. The position works collaboratively with the VP of Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee projects from pursuit through commercial construction closeout
Mentor, coach, and supervise project delivery teams
Maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and safety reporting
Manage contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders
Resolve disputes, manage claims, and support quality compliance
Requirements:
Related engineering or construction management diploma or degree
Minimum five years of project management experience
Experience overseeing commercial construction projects
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, drawings, and plans
Valid Class G licence and vehicle access required
Bring commercial construction leadership, cost control, and team development expertise to Fortis projects throughout Ontario.
