Associate Producer/Technician – Afternoon Drive (CBC Windsor)
We are looking for an energetic and enterprising associate producer/technician to play a vital role on our afternoon radio program Afternoon Drive
. This regional program is co‑produced with CBC London and serves listeners across southwestern Ontario.

Be proud of local journalism and serve the Windsor‑Essex, Chatham‑Kent, and Sarnia‑Lambton communities by giving news makers a voice on multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Identify newsworthy stories and pitch original current affairs ideas.
- Coordinate with the Afternoon Drive team to chase guests, prepare interview scripts, conduct field interviews, and produce audio‑rich packs.
- Curate breaking news for newscasts and the radio program.
- Operate the console during live broadcasts; troubleshoot and ensure audio quality.
- Present on‑air as needed for updates or host banter.
- Maintain equipment, facilities, and program sources to meet operational requirements.
- Program music, sound effects, and actuality that align with the show's mandate.
- Work flexible hours, overtime, and travel as required.
- University degree or equivalent; three to five years of experience in broadcasting or a related industry, with at least three years in editorial chase or technical operations.
- Strong background in live and live‑to‑tape radio broadcast engineering.
- Excellent production, journalistic, and communication skills.
- Deep knowledge of Windsor‑Essex and its community issues.
- Proven ability to develop compelling stories and contacts.
- Creative use of sound and adaptability under pressure.
- Comfortable presenting live on‑air and collaborating with a team.
- Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and travel within the region.
