Become a vital part of the special education team at River Street School in Windsor, Connecticut as a Para educator. Directly support students with a range of special needs under the supervision of a special education teacher.
This full-time role requires implementing individualized strategies that promote educational progress for a diverse student population. Responsibilities include daily living skills training, data collection on IEPs, and supporting therapy initiatives. This position is excellent for those dedicated to educational equity and the success of students aged 5-21 with autism and other challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with teachers to prepare and deliver instructional support
• Manage and maintain a safe and structured classroom environment
• Employ various activities for hands-on learning experiences
• Guide students during off-campus community interactions
• Collect and analyze data for IEP goal tracking
Requirements:
• Minimum age of 18 with a high school diploma
• Strong desire to learn about disabilities in education
• Preferred experience in human services or direct care
• Must complete a safety care training program
• Proficient in communication with students and team members
