Language Skills Instructor at YMCA

Ignite learning in newcomers as a Supply Language Skills Program Instructor at YMCA of Southwestern Ontario in Windsor.

Your role will focus on providing effective language instruction tailored to individuals who are new to Canada.

As a key member of our educational team, you will lead language classes, focusing on essential communication skills critical for everyday life in Canada. This position requires a strong ability to connect with students and utilize innovative teaching methods to enhance language acquisition. Prepare structured lesson plans while maintaining accurate attendance records and monthly reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide language instruction for up to 20 newcomers

• Prepare lesson plans with a clear progression

• Maintain students’ attendance and performance records

• Plan in and out-of-class activities

• Participate in professional development opportunities

Requirements:

• University degree required

• TESL Ontario/OCELT certification needed

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and LMS

• Excellent presentation and organizational skills

• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening required
