Job Summary
Position:
International Languages Instructor - Mandarin
Duties
Instructing students to learn the language.
Term of appointment
October 2026 to May 15, 2027. This position is a 25 week assignment, extendable on an annual basis by agreement between both employer and employee.
Salary
$40.06 per hour (including pay for Vacation and Statutory Holidays) in accordance with the OSSTF Continuing Education Instructors Collective Agreement.
Nature & Scope Of Position
Demonstrate strong collaborative, presentation, written and oral communication skills to support the delivery of the program.
Demonstrate a commitment to and documented success in working to create a fair, inclusive, antiracist environment for all stakeholders, and to supporting diverse constituencies and populations.
Assist with the promotion of the International Languages Program.
Experience working with youth and adult students would be considered an asset.
Current police clearance with a Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
Qualifications
Proficiency in computer skills such as but not limited to:
Word, Excel or other database software.
Proficiency and fluency in reading, speaking, and writing in the international language of Mandarin.
Legally allowed to work in Canada, over the age of 18.
An interest and passion about languages.
Classroom experience considered an asset.
Effective organization, communication skills, and respect within the classroom environment.
