The position

We are looking for a Structures S Licensed Technician to be responsible for performing a full range of aircraft sheet metal duties including disassemble, modify, repair, and reassemble complex aircraft metal items. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Repair, fabrication or modification of airframe structures as assigned in accordance with approved technical instructions.
  • As a member of the team, work to achieve quality, cost and time commitments.
  • Assist in mentoring Apprentice Technicians.
  • Perform initial inspection of aircraft upon receipt into heavy maintenance within scope of Transport Canada S License.
  • Perform maintenance release of completed task and address any identified discrepancies.
  • Perform inspections, use SRM/drawings to determine serviceability of part/structure.
  • Map damage out of limits and send assessment to engineering for validation.
  • Actively participate in the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting safety hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understands and promotes the company safety policy.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Education and experience

  • Transport Canada ‘S’ license
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Aircraft Structural Repair, Modification and Fabrication
  • Clear understanding of manufacturers and regulatory documentation, including Service Bulletins, Engineering Drawings, etc and ensuring a thorough application of technical documentation
  • Clear understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS)
  • Extensive knowledge and skilled use of the tools of the trade and the processes to perform duties as assigned
  • Must have own set of tools and toolbox (specialty and calibrated tools provided)

Working Conditions

  • Works on the Hangar floor
  • Shift work
  • Overtime may be required
