Windsor Engine Plant / Essex Engine Plant
Primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Manufacturing Process Engineering activity for Engine Assembly

Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivity

Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products

Develop action plans as required to investigate and prioritize quality concerns and verify corrective actions on internal processes and supplier processes

Lead and conduct process audits to ensure process discipline is consistent with Powertrain Operation guidelines

Conduct job ergonomic evaluations and deliver corrective actions as required

Analyze vehicle inventory root causes; engage in mapping and corrective actions to reduce usable inventory

Create process and instruction sheets supporting quality methods and processes

Deliver capable processes and tools for powertrain operations

Lead role in resolving assembly related concerns. Lead variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives and best practices

Ensure compliance to Plant, Corporate, Governmental and Environmental standards

Support ISO 14001 compliance and support internal ISO auditing and compliance as required

Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity in assembly and/or machining departments

Identify throughput constraints and drive root cause improvements

You’ll Have

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. (Proof of degree completion required; for non‑Canadian degrees an Education Credential Assessment report is required).

Experience:

2+ years of hands‑on shop floor engineering experience; 2+ years of data analysis competency using tools such as Minitab and Quality

WorX; practical experience in root‑cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions (8D/5‑Why); availability to work in rotating shifts (morning/afternoon/evening).

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.

Experience:

2+ years’ experience in a unionized manufacturing environment; experience with Factory Information System (FIS), Qlik Business Intelligence (QLIK), Quality Leadership System – Engine Manufacturing (QLSEM), and Quality Leadership System (QLS); ability to mentor production personnel and communicate technical information clearly;
Lean and Six Sigma experience (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred); proficiency with 5S, Kanban, Poka‑yoke, Value Stream Mapping, and Single‑Minute Exchange of Die; knowledge of Quality Operating System requirements; experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Production Part Approval Process, Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control, Measurement Systems Analysis, and visual factory management; proficiency with Microsoft Office and statistical/quality software (Minitab, Quality

WorX); supervisory experience as an Engineering lead; analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Salary range: $74,000.00 – $. Individuals may be eligible to participate in the Annual Compensation bonus program.
