Position: 2nd Class Marine Engineer at Northumberland Ferries

Based between Wood Islands, PE, and Caribou, NS, you will oversee the efficient operation of machinery while supervising an engine room crew. This year-round position is crucial for compliance with safety protocols and managing essential maintenance tasks. Your leadership will play a key role during the sailing season and the off-season overhauls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as Engineer of the watch in the engine room

• Supervise and delegate tasks to engine room crew

• Perform routine inspections and machinery maintenance

• Maintain accurate logbooks and repair records

• Ensure compliance with pollution prevention regulations

Requirements:

• Valid Certificate of Competency as 2nd Class Engineer

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Proven track record of safe operations

• Experience in passenger services preferred

• Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
