Location: Belle River
Become a key player in maritime operations with Northumberland Ferries Limited as a 2nd Class Marine Engineer. This full‑time role emphasizes maintenance, team leadership, and safety protocols.
In this full‑time, year‑round position, you will ensure the vessel’s safe and efficient operation. Based between Wood Islands, PE, and Caribou, NS, you will manage machinery upkeep, oversee engineers, and guarantee compliance with safety regulations. With an active sailing season from May to December, you’ll also engage in essential overhauls during the off‑season.
Key Responsibilities
Act as Engineer of the watch in machinery spaces
Supervise and delegate work to engine room crew
Perform inspections and maintenance of machinery
Maintain accurate logbooks and maintenance records
Ensure adherence to pollution regulations
Requirements
Valid Certificate of Competency as 2nd Class Engineer
Robust communication and teamwork skills
Proven safe operational track record
Experience in passenger services is an asset
Canadian citizenship or permanent residency required
Lead vessel maintenance and safety efforts with Northumberland Ferries Limited and develop your marine engineering career.
