Position: Geographic Information System Co-op Role
Location: Belle River

Join the Municipality of Lakeshore as a Geographic Information System Co-op Student. Contribute to community projects by maintaining and creating vital geographic data for various departments.

This position offers hands-on experience maintaining and editing municipal GIS data while assisting in workflows for the Community Planning Division. The ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in Geography, Geomatics, or a related field and has familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS. Attention to detail and a strong customer service orientation will bolster your contribution to municipal projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and edit municipal data across departments

• Update GIS databases, including infrastructure details

• Create maps, plans, and reports for departmental requests

• Collaborate on projects to ensure timely service

• Perform other duties as necessary

Requirements:

• Enrolled in Geography, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or similar field

• Preferably certified in GIS or experienced with ESRI ArcGIS

• Proficient with Microsoft Office and SQL Server applications

• Capability to handle high-pressure situations

• Emphasis on professionalism and confidentiality in work
