Position: Northumberland Ferries 2nd Class Engineer Role
Location: Belle River

Join Northumberland Ferries Limited as a full-time 2nd Class Marine Engineer, where you'll lead maintenance efforts and ensure operational safety aboard the vessel. This position prioritizes effective machinery management and team oversight during the sailing season.

Located between Wood Islands, PE, and Caribou, NS, you are responsible for the safe operation of the vessel, supervising engine room activities, and ensuring safety compliance. This year-round position emphasizes both daily oversight and crucial off-season machine overhauls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as Engineer of the watch in machinery spaces

• Supervise engine room personnel and delegate tasks

• Conduct inspections and maintain vessel machinery

• Keep accurate maintenance records and logs

• Ensure adherence to environmental regulations

Requirements:

• Valid Certificate of Competency as 2nd Class Engineer

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Proven record of safe operations in maritime

• Experience with passenger vessels is advantageous

• Canadian citizenship or permanent residency required
