    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Reporting to the Manager, Process Engineering & Maintenance, this position will be responsible for:
    Directly supervise pollution control mechanical maintenance staff and contractors working in Pollution Control plants, pumping stations and other City facilities as required;
    Supervises staff, conducts performance evaluations, discipline, training and development of maintenance staff, and performs ongoing employee lost time review;
    Responsible for ensuring all appropriate mechanical operating procedures are adhered to with respect to operation and maintenance, to comply with Occupational Health & Safety Act and TSSA requirements;
    Administer preventative maintenance program, maintain records and prepare instructions;
    Ensures efficient and cost effective performance;
    Keeps accurate records to ensure integrity, prepare reports on the operation and maintenance of various facilities;
    Maintain drawings and procedures to ensure they are accurate and up to date;
    Maintains attendance, accident, and other records;
    Ensures staff familiarity and compliance with all provincial safety legislation and corporate safety policies;
    Responsible for specific budget-related tasks;
    Informs the Manager or Senior staff of significant developments;
    Assist in the development of new and replacement equipment specifications;
    Replaces other Supervisors when required;
    Maintains amiable relations with the public and fellow staff.

    Perform Occupational Health & Safety duties as outlined in the Corporation’s Health and Safety Program;
    Perform other related duties as required.

    Qualifications:

    Must have a Master’s Degree in Engineering or related field or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency and a minimum of one (1) years of experience in an operations/industrial environment; OR Must have a University Degree in Engineering or related field or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in an operations/industrial environment; OR Must have a three (3) year post-secondary school community College diploma in Engineering Technology or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency and a minimum of four (4) years of experience in an operations/industrial environment;

    OR Must have an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma plus one (1) year post-secondary in Engineering Technology or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in an operations/industrial environment;
    Must possess or be able to obtain with 90 days a Ministry of Environment Wastewater Treatment OIT Certification and have the ability to obtain a Class I within 3 years of employment;
    Must hold and maintain a current valid and lawful Class G Driver's License in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act,…
