Job Description:
Lead interface between the Chief Engineering team and the Product Release Center, primarily responsible for managing system interactions and interfaces between components and subsystems of the Driveline System. Design Systems / Applications Engineer reports to the Chief Engineer for multiple programs.

Responsibilities include:

Driveline System hardware system responsible (integration and system balancing of all EDM gearbox components)
Interfacing with individual Design Release Engineers and COEs
Manufacturing
Suppliers
Development Validation Center
Schedules hardware system design reviews across PRC and reviews DRE design proposals as required
Organize reviews with Virtual Analysis / CAE team and ensures Virtual DVP / Scorecard is completed prior to any prototype hardware orders
Manage Driveline System and Interface DFMEA / DRBFM (team) reviews to ensure complete transparency and development of cohesive Design Controls leading to Robust DVP Actions
Supports CE & ACE to develop FTE and ER&D/ED&D Cost Roll
ups for Minor/MCA/ New Programs
Review and approve all change notices ensuring checklists, LL, and E
BPs are updated and aligned.
Leads Technical Cost Reductions (TCRs) / Value Optimization (VO) effort and alignment working closely with PRC, DVC and VO teams
moved from AE responsibilities to align better
Represents CE in managing the "lessons learned” document for the program and ensure that TS (Technical Specialist) receive those updates on a timely manner to update the E
BPs accordingly
Reviews driveline system and applicable component "Validation Completion” status with DVC team periodically & provides update to CE
Coordinates DRBTR review and keeper of "follow up items” and decision maker on issuing GIMS for buds of problems
Manage CQI and GIMS cross functional task force teams working closely with ACE, create priorities, action plans and track progress, align and update initiatives list

1. Looking for an Application Engineer to support the Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) Driveline Program.
2. Primary responsibility is ensuring driveline components (PTU, half shafts, prop shaft, etc.) integrate properly into the vehicle and coordinating stack-up activities to ensure proper fit and quality.
3. Role involves frequent collaboration with Design Release Engineers (DREs), suppliers, manufacturing plants, and cross-functional engineering teams.
4. Candidate will conduct plant visits (primarily Toluca, Mexico) to support manufacturing, quality, and assembly-related issues.
5. Approximately 10% travel, including twice-monthly travel to CTC (U.S.) for in-person meetings.
6. CAD experience is a plus (approximately 5% of the role), primarily for reviewing designs rather than creating them.
7. Strong preference for candidates with a Mechanical Engineering background (Master's preferred, Bachelor's required);
Electrical Engineers with automotive controls experience will also be considered.
8. Looking for candidates with 3–5 years of experience, preferably in driveline, powertrain, vehicle integration, systems engineering, or Design Release Engineering (DRE).
9. Technical hands-on experience, including automotive technician experience, is considered valuable.
10. Position is 100% onsite (5 days/week) at ARDC in Windsor, ON.
