Join our dynamic team in Windsor, ON, where you will play a crucial role in the design, validation, and release of wiring harness assemblies for vehicle electrical systems. This position offers the chance to work cross-functionally with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and quality stakeholders to ensure robust design execution and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and assist in the creation of 3D models and 2D drawings for wiring harness assemblies.
- Ensure part drawings and documentation align with master models.
- Author and validate engineering documents to meet all release requirements.
- Conduct First Piece Sign-Off (FPSO) and support PSO activities with Supplier Quality.
- Manage GIMs entries, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support launch activities at the assembly plant.
- Contribute to vehicle/component DFMEA and DVP compliance.
- Review and validate supplier DFMEA and DVP submissions.
- Participate in ACE packaging meetings and scroll reviews.
- Maintain and update PDP documentation and FASTCAR records.
- Support complexity chart development and compliance reporting.
- Provide input for owner's manual imagery and documentation.
- Drive standardization and harmonization of components and documents.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation wiring design, release, or vehicle electrical systems.
- At least 4 years of overall engineering experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Formal training in DFMEA, DVP&R, and DFSS methodologies.
- Working knowledge of CAD systems such as NX and Catia.
- Experience with Capital XC for 2D wiring design.
- Familiarity with high-volume manufacturing and wiring harness production environments.
- Understanding of automotive wiring harness drawings and specifications.
- Experience with SharePoint or similar web-based data management platforms.
