Recreation Aide

Position: Recreation Aide Role with Extendicare
Join Extendicare as a Recreation Aide and help create meaningful experiences for residents. Foster engagement through thoughtful program implementation and maintenance.

In this vital role, you'll work alongside the Recreation Manager and other staff to assist in planning and implementing recreational activities that promote resident involvement. You will communicate essential program details to families and staff while helping maintain records of each resident's participation and assessment. Supporting the nutritional needs of residents during meal services is also part of your responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging recreational programs

• Maintain accurate records and evaluations of activities

• Facilitate effective resident and staff communication about events

• Assist in outings and meal service as needed

• Uphold Extendicare's ethical standards and integrity

Requirements:

• Relevant experience in recreational or elder care settings

• Strong communication skills for interaction with residents and families

• Commitment to the wellbeing of vulnerable adults

• Attending in-service education for ongoing development

• Flexibility in managing various assigned duties
