Radiation Therapist

JOB SUMMARY
The Radiation Therapist assumes responsibility for administering radiation treatment in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist’s prescription, departmental policy and procedures, and standards of care. The role involves calculating basic prescription calculations, checking calculations performed by others, preparing and documenting the treatment record, and maintaining the record throughout a course of radiation therapy. The therapist responds to patient conditions and care needs, provides comprehensive patient education, and upholds departmental goals, policies, and performance standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of Radiation Therapy

Ability to communicate clearly and respond to the needs of others

Ability to function as a team member

Ability to communicate in French is an asset

EDUCATION

Graduate from an approved School of Radiation Therapy

Registration with the CMRITO

Current CPR registration required
