Laboratory Assistant Position at WRH

As a Laboratory Assistant, your primary focus will be on obtaining and delivering specimens from different sources and performing essential lab tests as per health guidelines. You’ll also manage technical and clerical duties relating to specimen management, including data entry in the Laboratory Information System. Working under the direction of trained lab personnel, your role is crucial for maintaining high health standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Obtain blood and urine samples from patients
• Ensure safe delivery of specimens to processing areas
• Assist with routine laboratory tests as per guidelines
• Maintain meticulous data entry within the information system
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards
Requirements:
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program
• MLPAO or CSMLS certification is preferred
• Trained in blood collection techniques
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient communications
• French language skills are advantageous
