Position Overview
We are seeking an IT Systems Administrator & Infrastructure Support Lead to take ownership of day‑to‑day IT operations. This is a hands‑on role suited for someone who enjoys solving problems, supporting users, and building practical systems that scale with a growing organization.

As the primary IT resource within the firm, this role ensures a dependable, secure, and efficient technology environment that supports design, collaboration, and project delivery.

Responsibilities
User Support (Primary Focus)

Act as the main point of contact for all IT‑related support requests.

Provide timely troubleshooting for hardware, software, network, and access issues.

Set up new employees including accounts, permissions, hardware, and software.

Manage off‑boarding including access removal and equipment recovery.

Support core business applications including CAD/BIM and collaboration tools.

Provide user guidance and basic training on systems and best practices.

Systems & Infrastructure Management

Administer and maintain Microsoft 365, file storage systems, and backup/recovery environments.

Manage network infrastructure including firewall, switches, Wi‑Fi, and VPN.

Monitor system performance, health, and security.

Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures including MFA, endpoint protection, and patching.

Coordinate with external IT vendors and consultants as required.

Hardware & Workstation Management

Standardize, deploy, and maintain laptops, desktops, and peripherals.

Support high‑performance workstations for CAD, BIM, and rendering workflows.

Manage hardware lifecycle including procurement, upgrades, and replacements.

Maintain inventory of all IT equipment and assets.

Software & Licensing

Manage all software licensing, subscriptions, and renewals.

Ensure compliance with vendor licensing requirements.

Support key platforms including Microsoft 365, AutoCAD, Revit, and related tools.

Evaluate and recommend new tools to improve efficiency and collaboration.

Maintenance, Planning & Growth

Perform system updates, patching, and preventive maintenance.

Maintain documentation of systems, processes, and configurations.

Develop and enforce practical IT policies including security, acceptable use, and backups.

Support leadership with IT budgeting and planning.

Identify scalable solutions to support firm growth, including cloud adoption and standardization.

Explore automation opportunities and emerging tools, including AI, to improve productivity.

Continuously improve reliability, security, and user experience.

Required Skills

Strong working knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft 365 administration.

Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including firewalls, VPNs, and Wi‑Fi.

Experience with endpoint management and cybersecurity tools.

Ability to troubleshoot across hardware, software, and network environments.

Strong communication skills with the ability to support non‑technical users.

Highly organized with strong prioritization and problem‑solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and manage a broad range of responsibilities.

Assets

Experience supporting CAD/BIM environments (AutoCAD, Revit).

Experience in small to mid‑sized organizations as a primary IT resource.

Knowledge of coding, scripting, or automation tools.

Familiarity with AI tools and applications in a business environment.

Experience with cloud platforms and scalable infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in IT support and systems administration.
