Lead innovative data solutions at the Region of Waterloo as a Principal Data Scientist. This hybrid role focuses on machine learning, statistical analysis, and enhancing service delivery.
This full-time position is essential for the Department of Strategy, Performance, and Partnerships within Public Health and Paramedic Services. You will develop analytical solutions, guide teams in data infrastructure, and build machine learning models. Your work will inform critical decisions, enhance operational efficiency, and support funding proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform data analysis using Python, SQL, and R tools
• Develop forecasts, dashboards, and performance measures
• Lead Business Intelligence and data warehouse coordination
• Provide analytical leadership for business and decision materials
• Develop and apply machine learning techniques for innovation
Requirements:
• Doctoral degree in Computer Science or related field
• Proven experience with statistical methods and machine learning
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
• Facility with data management and ethical standards
