We are currently looking to fill a  full‑time, permanent position  for a  Purchasing Manager  in our  Purchasing Department  at our  Leamington  facility.

What You'll Do

Lead the day‑to‑day operations of the purchasing team by establishing clear direction, delegating and monitoring responsibilities, mentoring and coaching team members and ensuring execution of tasks

Support in the process of identifying and sourcing products and materials in line with company requirements, ensuring compliance with specifications while supporting operational efficiencies and business objectives

Evaluate and monitor inventory levels and support coordination of stock transfers to maintain appropriate supply across the different business units

Monitor and track all purchases, pricing and cost structures to ensure accuracy, timely and accurate delivery and adherence to budgets, while identifying discrepancies and resolving with vendors as needed

Monitor, track and analyze all pricing changes and prepare detailed summaries and impact assessments for management review

Oversee the RFQ process with buyers, including preparation, supplier vetting and solicitation, bid evaluation and award recommendations, while ensuring competitive pricing and business requirements

Working with cross functional teams like Sales, Marketing, Warehouse, Farms, etc. to support efficiencies across the business

Monitor crop cycles, yield expectations and supply availability to support operational farm planning for material/supply forecasting

Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements and payment terms with vendors

Analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations and supply risks to aid in purchasing decisions

Identify savings opportunities and provide strategies to execute

Develop and maintain vendor scorecards and performance metrics

Facilitate business reviews with suppliers to maintain and grow the partnerships

Drive continuous improvement of purchasing systems, processes and policies to enhance efficiency, accuracy and overall operational effectiveness

Ensure vendor compliance with company policies, food safety standards and industry regulations

Monitor and manage purchasing activities to ensure adherence to the department budget, identifying variances and taking corrective action where needed

Comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security, and Nature Fresh Policies and Procedure

Complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management or a related field

Professional supply chain certifications considered an asset

Minimum 5+ years of management experience, preferably within a purchasing or supply chain function

Experience in the produce or agricultural industry preferred

Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate effectively

Solid understanding of inventory management and cost control principles

Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

A very high degree of confidentiality and integrity is required regarding all aspects of the business

Knowledge of the greenhouse produce industry would be a definite asset

Demonstrated abilities to manage, motivate, coach and mentor team members
