Pay and Travel
Pay or shift range: $31 to $41 CAD per hour. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job‑related reasons.
Travel required:
Yes – Windsor and Ontario with occasional travel to the US and Mexico.
Description
The Narmco Group is an industry leader in the automotive industry for metal stamping and assembly. As a result of continuously growing our professional team, we have a challenging career opportunity for a Raw Materials / Steel Buyer in our Corporate Purchasing Department. The candidate for this position will be responsible for the procurement of all raw materials and steel for production in our fast‑paced manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities
Competitively quote in a timely fashion for all steel and aluminum material, taking into consideration price, quality and delivery.
Ensure appropriate supply base is used for quoting and eventually awarding the product. Must identify if a customer‑dictated source is required prior to tendering quote.
Responsible for the follow‑up of all steel claims for manufacturing costs encountered at the facilities.
Responsible for resolving accounting inconsistencies in invoicing to contract agreements.
Must have a strong understanding of manufacturing MRP – supplier releasing.
Requirements
College diploma or university degree in Business Administration with a focus on supply chain or purchasing.
1‑3 years of administrative experience in a purchasing role with exposure to raw materials or steel buying.
Must be bondable.
Valid driver’s license for Windsor and Ontario, with occasional plant and vendor visits to the US and Mexico.
Demonstrate ability to work with large volumes of data and analyze information.
Very detail‑oriented and a high level of accuracy and thoroughness.
Proficient computer‑related skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and accurate data entry skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
