Exciting opportunity for an experienced Power Coating Technician. Our customer has decided to bring powder coating in-house at their facility and has just purchased a new powder coating system and now requires someone to operate said equipment.
Full-time, steady day position. Rare Saturday shift when very busy – never Sundays.
Wage:$25-$30/hr + immediate benefits. OT after 40 hours.
Location:Kingsville, ON.
Job Description
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Powder Coating Technician is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing metal components using powder coating processes to ensure a high-quality, durable finish. The role includes surface preparation, operating coating equipment and curing ovens, inspecting finished parts for quality and consistency, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare and clean parts for powder coating, ensuring they are free from contaminants
- Use of automatic and manual spray guns to apply powder paint evenly and consistently primarily to metal substrates
- Change colour and clean booths multiple times during the shift and ensure no colour contaminations.
- Operate and maintain the powder coating equipment, including ovens, grit blaster, spray booths and application guns.
- Perform various standard QA tests including visual inspection of the prepared and painted substrates ensuring they meet the QA guidelines for that specified part.
- Clean and maintain all the equipment including spray guns and ovens.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance carried out, production runs, inventory and consumption of paints, and QA testing during the painting operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum five (5) years experience with powder coating processes and equipment, ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
- Experience Operating Nordson Engage Automatic Coating Systems
- Familiar with both automatic and manual powder paint application equipment, preferably Nordson is an asset
- Familiarity with the use and operation of a Data Pak is an asset
- Familiarity with MRP systems is an asset
- Familiarity with the use of HMI screens is an asset
