Job Summary:

Windsor Salt’s Evaporation Facility in Windsor, Ontario has an opening for a Pan Room Operator (requiring 4th Class Operating Engineer qualification). This person will be responsible for operating the food grade evaporation operations and effectively communicating and problem-solving with the team to ensure production is running efficiently. The successful candidate will be able to work a 12-hour continental shift schedule.

** Please note that this position does not work in the powerhouse, but in the Pan Room of the salt evaporation operations. As a result, accumulating steam hours is not part of this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Production Manager in the Pan Room, this person will be responsible for:

Efficiently operating the Windsor Salt food grade evaporation operations

Effectively communicating and problem-solving with the maintenance team

Making a positive contribution by maintaining a workplace that is safe, healthy, and clean, by adhering to safety and quality standard practices

Contributing to the Pan Room team by accomplishing other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing facility

Safety-conscious team player

In addition, this individual will have:

Current Provincial certificate of qualification as a 4th Class Operating Engineer

Any other certifications, such as GMP, confined spaces and lock out training, will be considered an asset.

Team Environment:

This position is governed by a collective agreement. The starting hourly rate is $33.39, with the top rate (after three year progression) of $42.38.
