The Windsor Jewish Federation & Community Centreencompasses the Windsor Jewish Federation (WJF),Windsor Jewish Community Centre (WJCC), Windsor Jewish Communal Projects(WJCP), United Jewish Appeal of Windsor Trust(UJA),andI.L. Peretz Senior Citizen Corporation(ILPH).
The Organization & CommunityWindsorhasasmall butvibrant Jewish community composed ofapproximately1,200members.
The Windsor Jewish Federation & Community Centreserves asacentral hubto share in the richness and culture of Jewish life through social, recreational,educational and cultural activities.
Windsor Jewish Federation & Community Centre worksin coordination with but independent from the community's three Jewish religious institutions.
Our goal is tooffer activities and programs based on Jewish valuesto enrich life for the Jewish and greater Windsor communities,offering support,programming and enrichment.
Windsor, with a population ofroughly 250,000, borders Detroit, Michigan, which has a large and well-organized Jewish community of approximately 70,000 members and affords ready access to resources that are not plentiful in our smaller community.
This is an extremely important moment in the community's history, as itworks to strengthen the impact and position of the Jewish community and represent the Jewish community's interests and concerns in the broader
Windsorcommunity.
The Executive Director serves as the chief professional officer and provides the overall leadership to, and management of, the organization.
This includes:all aspects of financial oversight and resource development;organizational representation locally,nationally and internationally;community relations and advocacy;management of human and financial resources including the professional team;budgets and allocations;community programming;and lay participation and governance.
The Executive Director will report to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors through the (lay) President. The Executive Director will oversee all staff.
Success in this role will be a function of the candidate's ability tomarshal the full organizational and philanthropic potential of Windsor'sJewish community,toinspire and strengthen all members of the community and torepresentthe Jewish community in the broader
Windsorcommunity.
The scope and responsibility of therole of Executive Directorincludes, but is not limited to the following:
- Provide ongoing strategic direction and professional leadership to the organization.
- Collaborate with the professional and volunteer teams to ensure sound implementation of these plans and evaluation of impact.
- Be the public face and ambassador of the Federation torepresentand advocate on its behalf with communitypartnersand government organizations.
- Build and diversify the fund development strategy with a particular focus on the AnnualUJACampaign.
- Develop and actualize plans to enhance donor relations,increaseand diversify giving, inspire and engage volunteers.
- Assure the management of all administrative aspects of the campaign including ongoing maintenance ofthe campaign data base.
- Grow the planned giving program,endowmentsand bequests, harnessing the generational transfer of wealth.
- Diversify the funding streams including grants and other potential revenue streams.
- Board of Directors/Executive Committeerelations.
- Inspire,engageand manage lay leadership’s continual and dynamic involvement and oversee a plan for succession, as appropriate.
