• Promote, coordinate, and oversee the activities of Christmas Kettle Campaign volunteers.
• Recruit kettle volunteers (including individuals, groups, organizations and businesses).
• Oversee the operations of the Christmas Kettle campaign including supervise, support, schedule volunteers and respond to emergency absences, etc.
• Orient and remind volunteers on proper Kettle handling and duties as required.
• Visit locations during shift changes and intermittently.
• Remain at the Kettle for the full shift (until relieved), ensuring security of donations received.

• Communicate daily issues and supply deficiencies to the supervisor.

• Foster and maintain positive working relationships with kettle locations’ management and employees.

• This position reports directly to the Community Engagement Specialist or designate.
• Direct report: N/A. Workflow coordinator for Christmas Kettle volunteers.

• Responsible for coordination of kettles and ensuring the security of donations.

• This is a temporary seasonal full-time position, based on 40 hours per week.
• Normal hours of work: as per campaign operational requirements.
• Shifts will include days, afternoons, evenings, weekend shifts, and split shifts, Monday through Saturday. Applicable shifts include a ½ hour unpaid meal break.
• Flexibility in scheduling is required, as the hours will gradually increase as per the Christmas Kettle Campaign operational requirements.
• Required to wear appropriate Salvation Army identification.
• Standing for long periods will be required and exposure to cold weather
• Local travel is associated with this position.
• Normal location of work is: 355 Church Street, Windsor, ON N9A 7G9

The above responsibilities must be performed in keeping with The Salvation Army’s Mission, Vision and Values, in a professional manner, upholding our code of conduct.

• Completed High School or equivalent.
• Prior-related experience would be a definite asset (i.e. Campaign coordinating/Event, Fundraising experience)

• Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License, current copy of driver’s abstract that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required.

• Must provide an original copy of a Background Check that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required. The screening is secured either through the national Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) or through a local police detachment.

• May require screening through The Salvation Army Abuse Registry.

• A minimum of one year of related experience or working in customer service.
