This position is part of a unionized bargaining unit. The hourly wage for this position starts at $18.10 and is established in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on a candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, and prior experience, a higher hourly wage may be offered. Any hourly wage offered for this role, whether starting or higher, will fall within the wage scale established for this position in accordance with the collective agreement.
This is a posting for an existing permanent part‑time position.

Responsibilities
Receives, prices, stocks, rotates and merchandises products.
Ensures department is ready for business at all times.
Implements and adheres to Customer Service Policy.
Adheres to Company policies and procedures and government regulations concerning health & safety, sanitation, security, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Supports Meat Manager and directs activities pertaining to department staff, including hiring, coaching, and training.
Supports Meat Manager for ensuring department standards.
Support with overall store operations including store opening and closing.
Requirements
Meat experience which includes excellent product knowledge and rotation and merchandising experience.
Superior customer service skills.
Capable of standing for a prolonged period of 4-8 hours; of bending, twisting and turning and reaching; and of lifting up to 30 lbs.
Available to work days, evenings, Saturdays and Sundays, as per the C.B.A.
The responsibilities and relationships assigned to this role may change as is necessary to achieve Metro's business objectives.
