About the position
DutiesReporting to a research scientist (RES-05) of the Natural Resources section of AAFC, the position is responsible for:
- Planning and managing scientific research projects in sustainable agriculture and soil environmental health.
- Modeling and calibrating existing soil analysis methods.
- Gathering, analyzing compiling, and interpreting data and presenting the results of scientific analyses.
- Participating in the writing of draft reports.
- Technically training students and new employees and leading and supervising work teams.
- Providing scientific advice and information in applied soil fertility and water quality (nutrient management) to ensure the execution of AAFC’s crop and environmental mandate, its clients and the public relatively to the sustainable agriculture and environmental health.
Intent of the process
The immediate need is to staff one position on a full time, 12 month term with a possibility of extension. A pool of qualified and partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various employment tenures.
