Site Description:
Windsor Regional Hospital’s Met Campus provides emergency care, inpatient services, diagnostics, and surgical units in a high-traffic medical environment. Security guards manage access points, monitor visitor flow, patrol sensitive areas, and support emergency response to ensure safety for patients, staff, and visitors.
Job Description:
· Respond to Emergencies:
Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations. Provide Use of Force/Restraint as required and directed under the Mental Health Act
· Provide Customer Service:
Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
· Conflict Resolution:
De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
· Report Writing:
Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.
· Collaboration with Hospital Staff:
Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
· Enforce Hospital Policies:
Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards.
Prerequisites:
· Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
· Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
· Diploma in Police Foundations, Protection Security & Investigations, Border Services, or Criminology is required
· Covid Vaccine two doses
· Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test
· English (oral and written) fluency is a must
· Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
· Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
o Please be aware:
The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
