Site Description:
Windsor Regional Hospital’s Ouellette Campus (1030 Ouellette Ave) delivers advanced emergency, trauma, cardiac, renal, stroke, neurosurgery, and mental-health care. Security guards manage access, monitor high-traffic clinical areas, assist with emergencies, and ensure safe operations across this busy 24/7 acute-care environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Patrol Hospital Grounds:
Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site. Daily lock and unlock of facilities. - Inspect and screen bags or cargo using equipment of hands
- Perform searches of passengers with tools or by hand
- Monitor and screen passengers through screening checkpoints and other procedures
- Provide Customer Service:
Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures. - Conflict Resolution:
De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally. - Report Writing:
Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns. - Collaboration with Hospital Staff:
Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved. - Enforce Hospital Policies:
Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards.
Prerequisites:
- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- Diploma in Police Foundations, Protection Security & Investigations, Border Services, or Criminology is required
- Covid Vaccine two doses
- Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test
- English (oral and written) fluency is a must
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Please be aware:
The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability - Authorized to legally work in Canada
