Support individuals facing housing instability as a Housing Outreach Worker with Family Services Windsor-Essex (FSWE). Assist clients in navigating resources and achieving self-sufficiency.
In this critical role, you will provide one-on-one support at the Ontario Works office, helping clients access necessary resources like housing options and assistance programs. Your expertise in community outreach will be crucial for advocating on behalf of vulnerable individuals while fostering professional relationships with partners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist clients in completing ODSP packages and housing applications
• Maintain an updated list of community resources
• Meet clients to assess and address their needs
• Engage clients in securing housing and necessary supports
• Document all activities using SharePoint and HIFIS
Requirements:
• University degree in Social Work or related field preferred
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in case management or outreach
• Strong understanding of housing and income support programs
• Proven advocacy skills for vulnerable populations
• Valid driver’s license and use of personal vehicle
