This senior-level role owns technical decisions and projects across design, launch, and on-call. You will build highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes. Your work supports LLM gateways, agent runtimes, evaluation services, identity, routing, caching, and failover controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Design gateway, runtime, and evaluation services for production AI workloads
Plan projects and own decisions from design through launch
Build identity, quota, routing, caching, and failover controls
Monitor systems through metrics, alerts, runbooks, and on-call
Mentor engineers and improve design, coding, and testing practices
Requirements:
Four or more years designing backend systems at scale
Experience with Python or Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
Production experience with LLMs, agents, or AI frameworks
Equivalent practical experience or a related Bachelor’s degree
Strong written and verbal communication for global collaboration
Bring distributed systems expertise and production AI experience to Affirm’s remote AI Platform team across Canada.
