The Opportunity

Role Summary

The Driver Coordinator (Days) is the main point of contact between the backbone of the transportation industry (our AZ Drivers) and the organization. This role is responsible for effectively coordinating a group of drivers to success through continual communication from the shipment pick‑up to delivery and ensuring the appropriate internal departments (i.e. Customer Service, Breakdown, Customs) are aware of any updates.

Key Accountabilities
  • Participating in and supporting driver retention initiatives
  • Maintaining fair and equitable distribution of work
  • Communicating dispatch information as required
  • Monitoring driver performance/miles and reefer requirements
  • Monitoring and responding to driver satellite messages
  • Assisting with the development of required driver skills (Customs, Hazmat, Hours of Service, Policy, Regulations, Satellites, etc.)
  • Assisting with solutions regarding any driver concerns
  • Assisting with driver inquiries – payroll, miles, etc.
  • Updating customer websites relative to the position/shift
  • Communicating and problem solving with customers as required
Other Duties

Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who brings:

Education & Experience
  • Secondary School Diploma is required
  • Knowledge of truckload dispatch as an asset
  • ACE and Customs/border crossing experience an asset
  • TMW experience an asset
Skills & Attributes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong self‑discipline and initiative
  • Creative and effective problem‑solving ability
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
