Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, competitive estimates for municipal, school, and commercial projects, including hard-bid, negotiated, and design-assist work
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop self-perform and subcontractor pricing
• Review plans, specifications, and addenda to identify scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities
• Solicit, level, and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure complete scope coverage
• Build and manage bid schedules, bid packages, and proposal submissions to meet deadlines
• Develop conceptual and budget estimates during preconstruction and support owners and design teams with cost guidance
• Hand off awarded projects to operations with clear estimate breakdowns and scope documentation
• Maintain historical cost data and strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience with a general contractor
• Experience estimating municipal, school, commercial, or related ground-up projects preferred
• Proficiency with takeoff and estimating software
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail under tight bid deadlines
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field helpful but not required
