Overview
EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR I – Primary Teacher Assistant position with Windsor Town of Windsor and Windsor Montessori School. The successful candidate will assist in planning and implementing an after-school Primary Program for children ages 2.9 to 6 years, work with assistants, interns, and contractual employees, recommend materials and supplies as needed, assist in the preparation of daily reports to families, act in the lead role during the teachers absence, attend monthly staff meetings, participate in seminars and training sessions as assigned, and maintain timely and accurate work records.
Responsibilities- Assist in the planning and implementation of the after-school Primary Program for children ages 2.9 to 6 years.
- Work with assistants, interns, and contractual employees.
- Recommend materials and supplies as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of daily reports to families.
- Act in the lead role during the teacher’s absence.
- Attend monthly staff meetings; participate in seminars and training sessions as assigned; maintain timely and accurate work records.
- Good knowledge of principles and practices of early childhood education and development.
- Candidate should hold a current CDA or equivalent credential.
- Completion of 12 ECE credits is required within the first year of employment.
- Associate’s degree in education, early childhood development or related field with 1 year experience; or any combination of education and/or experience required.
- Successful completion of the Town of Windsor’s pre-employment background and drug screen – including testing for marijuana.
- Hourly range is $35,500 to $40,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
- Town employees receive a comprehensive benefit package, including health, dental, vision and life insurance, tuition reimbursement, short and long-term disability, and a defined contribution retirement plan.
- Hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, 52 weeks per year.
