First Church Early Learning Center, established in 1956, is NAEYC accredited. We are looking for a positive, responsible, and adaptable teacher to join our family. The teacher will manage the classroom, plan and implement an emergent curriculum, maintain Office of Early Childhood and NAEYC standards, and communicate daily with parents.
Hours may vary between 8:30 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, depending on the role and school needs.
Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of experience working with young children, knowledge of the Connecticut Preschool Assessment Framework (PAF), and can create lesson plans that meet individual developmental needs for children aged 3‑6.

Duties- Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
- Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
- Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent‑teacher conferences.
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment, including maintaining appropriate hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
- Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Associate degree in early childhood education or related field with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- High energy and ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) to foster a team environment.
- Strong understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification (will be provided if not already certified).
- Must clear a full background check and pass health screening.

First Church Early Learning Center was established in 1956 and is NAEYC accredited. FCELC comprises two full‑day classrooms and a half‑day classroom; full‑day classrooms operate 12 months a year and part‑day during the school year.
