Vendor Payables Manager – WM

Job SummaryManages a team of employees responsible for 3rd‑party vendor aging, payment dispute reconciliation, and initial vendor service research.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Procures services through third‑party vendors and technicians, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Maintains vendor relationships, negotiates agreements, and monitors service quality and contractual commitments.
- Oversees vendor selection, qualification, and database management to optimize service performance.
- Serves as the primary contact for purchases, service agreements, deliveries, and customer satisfaction concerns.
- Resolves escalated vendor and technician issues while ensuring adherence to service level agreements.
- Develops and assists in Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and business cases.
- Directs vendor payment processes, tracks trends, improves procedures, and drives team performance.
- Guides Vendor Payable Supervisors, fostering collaboration and efficiency among teams and external partners.
- Manages department personnel needs, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and compensation decisions.
Direct and indirect supervision of employees (exact numbers to be provided).
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
- Four years of relevant work experience.
- Proficient leadership skills with ability to manage, mentor, and coach a team.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with ability to drive continuous improvement.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present point of view in varied business situations.
- Analytical and quantitative abilities.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Prioritization based on department and company standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel – advanced level (pivot tables, V‑lookups, and macros).
- Knowledge of Waste Management services, policies, and system interfaces is a plus.

Location and CompensationOffice setting in Windsor, CT. Base pay range $92,000–$120,000 (good faith estimate). Specific salary influenced by experience, education, certifications, and location.
