Position: Slitter Operator 1 - Third Shift

Description

Our Slitter Operator supports Mativ’s Sustainable & Adhesive Solutions Function. This individual is responsible for setting up and operating slitters used for converting jumbo rolls of adhesive products into smaller rolls. Responsibilities include loading jumbo rolls, adjusting machine components, slitting, rewinding, inspecting web quality, booking completed products, understanding packaging requirements, and guiding the team. The role reports to the Production Supervisor, with a shift schedule from 6 am to 6 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain work orders from the supervisor.
  • Ensure timely production of quality products.
  • Perform safety checks before start-up.
  • Acquire materials as per work order BOM.
  • Set up equipment for manufacturing.
  • Load jumbo rolls onto unwind.
  • Operate machinery according to standards.
  • Label products and cartons correctly.
  • Pack products properly.
  • Inspect finished products and handle scrap.
  • Perform booking and line clearance.
  • Follow ISO procedures.
  • Provide quality samples for QA.
  • Report quality issues or machine malfunctions.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organize work station.
  • Adjust equipment for efficiency and quality.
  • Promote teamwork and company principles.
  • Assist with packing duties if needed.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support cost reduction efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications Required
    • High School diploma or GED
    • Ability to work in a team in manufacturing
    • Initiative and responsibility
    • Good attendance
    • Ability to adapt to change
    • Computer skills
    • Basic math skills
    Preferred
    • Knowledge of ERP systems
    Position Demands

    Work in a manufacturing environment with potential hazards and physical demands including lifting, pushing, working long shifts, and performing repetitive tasks. PPE is required.
