Description

Omni-Serv partners with the passenger airlines industry and carrier services to perform various aviation roles. Currently, we are seeking a GSE Mechanic to perform and oversee preventative maintenance and immediate repairs on ground Support equipment (GSE) including but not limited to belt loader, tug vehicles, dollies, and container loaders.

Overview

The Ground Support Equipment Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and functionality of ground support equipment used in aviation operations. This position requires a skilled individual with a strong mechanical background, including automotive experience with a focus on diesel engines
, who can diagnose, repair, and maintain various types of equipment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and possess a solid understanding of mechanical systems

Compensation: $28.00 - $29.00 per hour (depended on experience)

Shift: 4:00 pm - 12:30 am, Monday-Friday

Duties

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on ground support equipment, including tugs, fuel trucks, and baggage carts.
  • Diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on ground support equipment, including diesel- and gas-powered vehicles and machinery
  • Inspect equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools to conduct repairs and adjustments.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance work and parts used.
  • Work with team members to complete repairs on time and reduce equipment downtime.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist in the training of junior mechanics or apprentices as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience working with heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, or ground support equipment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid US driver's License with at least 3 years of experience- approvals and final decision is subjected to our automobile insurance carrier's criteria.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
