Science Teacher - Permanent Position (Burnham) UPS/MPS Fringe

Special Needs School, SEMH and EBD - April start

A specialist SEND provision in Burnham is seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join the team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who wants to make a genuine impact on young people with a range of additional needs, particularly those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and complex learning needs.

The Role

The successful candidate will be teaching Science across Key Stages, delivering engaging, practical and accessible lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of learners. You will adapt the curriculum, plan creative learning experiences, and use differentiated strategies to ensure every student can access the subject and achieve success.

You will work closely with a supportive, multidisciplinary team to promote positive engagement, emotional regulation and academic progress.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs, ideally including SEMH and complex needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent, resilient approach
  • The ability to adapt teaching methods to individual learning styles and build positive, trusting relationships
  • A commitment to inclusive practice and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners
