A high-performing, inclusive secondary school and sixth form in the Windsor area is seeking a dedicated MFL teacher to join a supportive and collaborative environment. Role OverviewThe school is seeking a passionate and skilled Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages to cover a period of maternity leave starting in February
. The successful candidate will teach French and Spanish across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 and contribute to the positive, forward-thinking ethos of the MFL department.
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in French and Spanish across KS3-KS5
. - Monitor, assess, and report on student progress in line with school policy.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and development within the MFL department.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment with high expectations.
- Participate in departmental meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives.
- Prepare students for internal assessments, GCSE, and A-Level examinations.
- Support pastoral responsibilities, such as form tutor duties (if applicable).
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote a strong culture of language learning.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Relevant degree (e.g., French/Spanish, Linguistics, Modern Languages).
- Ability to teach French and Spanish to KS4
, with at least one language to KS5
. - Strong subject knowledge and awareness of current MFL teaching approaches.
- Excellent classroom management and ability to motivate students.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding young people.
- Experience teaching both languages at A-Level
. - Experience preparing students for public examinations.
- Willingness to support extra-curricular activities such as trips or language clubs.
- Experience working in a high-expectation comprehensive school.
- A collaborative and supportive MFL department.
