Role
We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a warm, inclusive primary school in Slough.
Contract & SalaryFull Time, Permanent. Competitive salary, dependent on experience. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
Responsibilities- Work closely with class teachers, the SEND team and wider school staff to provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
- Support children with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
- Assist in the delivery of personalised learning and intervention programmes.
- Promote pupil independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
- Support the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual support plans.
- Monitor and record pupil progress and achievements.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- Support the school's inclusive ethos and safeguarding responsibilities.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, either in a school or similar setting.
- Patience, compassion, and resilience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships and establish trust with pupils.
- Proactive, flexible and able to use own initiative.
- Works effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to supporting the educational, emotional and social development of children.
- Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential).
