At IHG, learning isn’t an activity - it’s a strategic lever. As Director, Global Learning Strategy & Enablement, you will shape how learning drives capability, performance, and future readiness across a truly global organization.

This is a pivotal enterprise role for a strategic leader who can translate long‑term ambition into clear direction, disciplined execution, and measurable impact. You will design and operationalize a unified global learning strategy, enabling consistency, scalability, and business alignment - while ensuring our learning ecosystem evolves to meet future workforce needs.

Your Impact Set the Global Learning Direction
  • Define and evolve the enterprise-wide learning strategy, aligned to business priorities, workforce needs, and long‑term direction.
  • Translate strategy into clear, mid‑term roadmaps that set priorities and guide global and regional execution.
  • Lead evidence‑based planning cycles, using insights, data, and ecosystem intelligence to inform decisions and investments.
Enable Strategy Through Governance & Operating Excellence
  • Establish strategy execution frameworks, decision rights, and operating standards that drive consistency and discipline globally.
  • Take an ecosystem‑wide view to manage interdependencies, reduce fragmentation, and protect a coherent learner experience.
  • Provide clear strategic guidance to regions, balancing global standards with local relevance.
Build the Enablement Infrastructure
  • Design and optimize the tools, systems, and frameworks that support end‑to‑end learning delivery.
  • Partner with Shared Services, PMO, Technology, and Performance Consulting to embed scalable operating models and best practices.
  • Create practical playbooks and toolkits that enable learning teams to deliver efficiently and confidently.
Drive Enterprise Integration & Value
  • Ensure learning investments are aligned to business priorities and deliver measurable enterprise impact.
  • Connect strategy across design, development, delivery, and effectiveness to close the gap between intent and outcomes.
  • Partner with regional and functional leaders to meet global expectations while addressing local needs.
Influence, Partner, and Lead
  • Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, HR, and functional stakeholders to advance enterprise learning priorities.
  • Represent Global Learning Strategy & Enablement in executive forums, transformation initiatives, and cross‑functional planning.
  • Lead decision‑making forums that link enterprise strategy with real‑world learning needs.
Innovate with Purpose
  • Set clear guardrails to ensure innovation is aligned, measurable, and enterprise‑ready.
  • Champion targeted innovation across learning technology, capability models, measurement, and enablement.
  • Drive continuous improvement through analytics and feedback, improving efficiency, scalability, and quality across the learning ecosystem.
What We’re Looking For
  • 10+ years’ experience in learning strategy, organizational development, or learning technology leadership.
  • Proven success leading in global, matrixed environments – ideally within hospitality or multi‑unit / franchise‑led operations.
  • A strong track record of evaluating, piloting, and scaling learning innovations with measurable impact.
  • Exceptional analytical capability, executive communication skills, and the ability to influence across complex stakeholder landscapes.
  • Degree in Business, Education, Learning Sciences, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
