Software Engineer; TypeScript

We’re searching for a Software Engineer to join our Digital Technology Services team, building and maintaining scalable SaaS platforms that enable Centrica’s growth.

As part of a cross‑functional team, you will collaborate with Product Owners to shape roadmap, innovate with cutting‑edge technologies, and deliver impactful solutions.

UK – flexible working available.

• Build and evolve backend applications using Type Script/Node.js, Java, and Python.
• Design and deploy scalable solutions across AWS, Azure, and Salesforce.
• Champion serverless and event‑driven architectures using Kubernetes and microservices.
• Use SQL/No
  
  SQL, Terraform, and Datadog to manage infrastructure and monitor performance.
• Collaborate with Product Owners to define roadmaps and deliver impactful SaaS platforms.
• Participate in hackathons and innovation projects with partners like AWS and Microsoft.
• Drive excellence in security, SRE, and quality engineering.

• Experience building Type Script/Node.js backend applications.
• Experience building serverless and event‑driven architectures on AWS.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, or Ansible.
• Strong experience using API technologies.
• Knowledge of engineering best practices and continuous delivery.
• Passion for building quality software and delighting customers.
• Responsible for proactively improving deployment, monitoring, alerting, and incident handling practices within the team.
