Fixed term one-year (12-month) full-time contract in order to undertake a BSc / PGDip Specialist Community Public Health Nurse course (Health Visiting) starting in September 2026
. Sponsorship will cover university fees and the equivalent of an entry level Band 5 Agenda for Change salary with a local government pension.

About the roleThe successful candidate will commence a 12 month course at Buckinghamshire New University (BNU), High Wycombe which will lead to an NMC recordable qualification and eligibility to apply for a post as a Health Visitor.
- You will be supported daily in the health visiting practice location by a Practice Supervisor and a Practice Assessor will oversee your competencies.
- You will be assigned a Link Tutor from BNU.
- You will work as a Student Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) within the community as a member of the Health Visiting Team and will be expected to work across the borough (Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead).
- You will work with the University Academic Tutor responsible for overseeing progress and to engage in the use of web-based learning facilities and taught classes provided by the university.

About youYou must have at least one of the following qualifications:
- RGN / RMH / RM / RNC / RMNH / Dip HE (Child/Adult/Learning Disabilities) and have a current active NMC registration and evidence of continuing professional development. A current valid driving licence and access to a car for work purposes is essential.
Skills and experience
- Experience in building strong partnerships, maintaining relationships and co-producing solutions to challenges across a diverse set of stakeholders, including children, young people and their families, advocating the voices of those we are working with.
- Proven ability to effectively use an online database and is computer literate with a range of software applications (including Google)
- Experience in keeping and maintaining records (in accordance with local policy and the NMC Code), as well as producing accurate reports, presentations, and written updates to a range of stakeholders (which may include families, children or young people).
