Principal Software Engineer; Mobile

Salary: £60, per year

• Strong expertise in React Native and modern mobile application development.
• Proven experience delivering and supporting mobile applications through the full development lifecycle, including deployment to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
• Experience building robust automated testing strategies, including unit and integration testing.
• Strong understanding of mobile CI/CD pipelines, release management, and deployment automation.
• Experience using Git Hub and modern source control workflows.
• Knowledge of mobile observability, alerting, monitoring, and performance optimisation.
• Ability to provide technical leadership, influence engineering decisions, and support multiple teams in delivering high-quality mobile solutions.
• Experience with native mobile development for iOS and/or Android.
• Experience with UI and end-to-end testing frameworks and practices.
• Knowledge of React and modern web technologies.
• Experience designing and consuming APIs and web services.
• Familiarity with Azure Dev Ops and modern cloud-based development tool chains.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Apps and Microsoft Intune.
• Experience working in product-led, cross-functional teams and influencing technical direction across a broad engineering landscape.

• Provide technical leadership for the mobile engineering domain.
• Help build world-class applications that enable our Field Engineers to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Shape technical strategy and drive engineering excellence across our mobile platforms.
• Coach, mentor, and support engineers across the organisation.
• Contribute to growing high-performing engineering teams through technical recruitment, assessment, and selection activities.
• Partner with Product and Engineering stakeholders to influence product strategy.
• Ensure technical decisions align with customer, business, and operational objectives.
• Use deep mobile engineering expertise to identify opportunities, shape future capabilities, and drive product outcomes.
• Maintain understanding of business priorities, platform performance, and engineering operating costs.
• Support teams in adopting effective delivery practices, including iterative development, estimation, prioritisation, and continuous value delivery.
• Monitor delivery health and team performance, proactively identifying risks and removing blockers.
• Guide teams through technical and delivery challenges, ensuring a focus on simplicity, quality, and customer value.
• Define and drive the technical strategy, architecture, and standards for our mobile platforms and applications.
• Design scalable, resilient, and maintainable mobile solutions.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, design reviews, and code reviews.
• Support critical incidents and post-incident reviews, driving learning and continuous improvement.
• Champion engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, operational excellence, and modern software delivery approaches.
• Lead engineering communities, guilds, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Stay current with emerging mobile technologies, industry trends, and engineering practices.
